Tango String Workshop
Saturday, October 18 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
This interactive Tango workshop invites string players of all levels - from advanced high school students to amateurs and professionals, who are curious about the musical traditions that shaped artists such as Astor Piazzolla. Led by violinists Teagan Faran (Orquesta Escuela de Tango Emilio Balcarce and Azabache Tango, Buenos Aires) and Jessie Stark, participants will begin by learning string Argentine techniques that are unique to tango, then put those skills into practice by working together on a well-known tango piece. Music will be available in advance for those who wish to prepare, but players are also welcome to simply show up and learn during the workshop. Music will be provided and is available early upon request.
