Tango String Workshop
Saturday, October 18 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
This interactive Tango workshop invites string players of all levels - from advanced high school students to amateurs and professionals, who are curious about the musical traditions that shaped artists such as Astor Piazzolla. Led by violinists Teagan Faren (Orquesta Escuela de Tango Emilio Balcarce and Azabache Tango, Buenos Aires) and Jessie Stark, participants will begin by learning string techniques that are unique to tango, then put those skills into practice by working together on a well-known tango piece. Music will be available in advance for those who wish to prepare, but players are also welcome to simply show up and learn during the workshop.

Tango String Quartet Concert

Join us for the first-ever event of the Hamilton Village Tango Project. This special concert will feature a string quartet performing music from both the golden age and modern era of tango.

The ensemble brings together exceptional musicians: violinist Teagan Faren (Orquesta Escuela de Tango Emilio Balcarce and Azabache Tango, Buenos Aires), violinist Jessie Stark, violist Claire Wilcox, and cellist Hilary Glen. Together, they will present a vibrant program featuring works by Julián Peralta, Katharina Deissler, and Pétalo Selser, along with original arrangements by Teagan Faren.
