Sustainable Community Building: Draft Animal Power, Local Farms, and Forest Management

A A discussion about the historic and present-day use of draft animal power in farm and forest settings. Learn about the history of live traction, modern day applications, and how draft animals can provide an alternative and regenerative approach to working landscapes.

Presenter: Sarah Dougherty is a lifelong learner, educator, artist, farmer and avid environmental activist. She has a degree in Natural Resource Conservation and Land Management with a concentration in building sustainable communities. She is currently working as the Greenhouse Superintendent at Colgate University.Annual memberships are available for both individuals and families.  However, all presentations are open to non-members for a $10 fee.
