The Songwriting Lab
When: Every Wednesday from 6-7:30pm
Where: Arts at The Palace, 19 Utica St., Hamilton, NY 13346
The Songwriting Lab is a chance for songwriters of all experience levels to come together on a weekly basis to get feedback and create new songs with other songwriters and musicians.
Each week, the workshop will meet for 90 minutes, opening with the group listening to a song and discussing it. Then we will have a spotlight where one artist shares what they are working on and gets feedback. After the spotlight, we will split into pairs to collaborate on writing songs. We will come together at the end to share with the group and decide who will spotlight next week.
The workshop will be facilitated by Georgia Banner, a budding songwriter. You can listen to the works in progress from her band Bugs to Know at Bounce.fm.
What to bring:
something to write with (notebook + pen or laptop)
(optional) your instrument(s). We also have guitars, a keyboard, and a piano available here!
(optional) a piece you are working on that you want to share
